Research

We study the synthesis, shaping and behaviour of novel functional ceramics.

The aim of the LSFC is to study the structural organisation of materials at all length scales in order to understand and modify their properties.  We study both porous (with the creation of multi-scale porosities) and dense (inducing a preferential ordering) materials.  We not only study the bulk, but also surfaces.

Charge-transfer interaction and catalytic properties

Gas phase-solid interaction plays an important role for the catalytic performance

Metamaterials and Ceramics

Ceramics with outstanding properties.

Multi-scale porosity and transport phenomena

Study and control of the porosity within materials.
